Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful effort that had a more grittier edge. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was more refined, sharper and less cloned on previous performances.

After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
